1. Acceptance
By using Midvash — including the website at midvash.com, the institutional site at midvash.app, the iOS and Android applications, the Chrome extension, and the public APIs at api.midvash.com and mcp.midvash.com — you agree to these Terms of Use.
2. The service
Midvash provides free access to Bible translations, biblical reference content (dictionary, commentaries, characters, harmony of the Gospels, cross-references), and study tools, in multiple languages. The service is offered on an "as-is" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
3. Bible translations
Bible translations served through Midvash are either in the public domain or used under license from their respective rights holders. The text of each translation remains the property of its publisher or copyright holder. Midvash does not claim ownership of any Bible translation displayed by the service.
For non-personal use of any specific translation (republication, distribution, commercial use), please consult the rights holder of that translation directly.
4. Reference content
Bible dictionary entries, commentaries, character profiles, harmony references, cross-references, and similar editorial content are produced by Midvash, sourced from public-domain works, or compiled from third-party scholarship and clearly attributed where applicable. This content is offered for personal study and educational purposes.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use Midvash for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:
- Attempt to disrupt or overwhelm the service (e.g., abusive scraping, DDoS)
- Use the public API in ways that violate the rate limits or other published terms
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the apps or extension
- Misrepresent the origin of content served through Midvash
- Use the service to harass, defame, or violate the rights of others
6. Public API
The public API at api.midvash.com is offered for community use. Reasonable rate limits apply to ensure availability for everyone. Heavy production use should respect the documented limits or contact us at contact@midvash.com to discuss.
7. Account
To use sync and other account-only features, you can create a free Midvash account by using Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or by receiving a one-time sign-in link by email ("magic link"). We do not use passwords. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
You are responsible for the security of the email address and the identity provider account (Apple ID or Google account) you use to sign in. We are not responsible for actions taken through your Midvash account if you lose control of your sign-in method. If you suspect unauthorized access, sign out of all devices from the app and revoke access from your identity provider's settings.
You can delete your Midvash account at any time. See the Privacy Policy for details on how account deletion works, including the 30-day recovery period and final purge.
8. User content
When you create personal data on Midvash (bookmarks, highlights, notes, reading position), you retain full ownership of that data. We process and store it only to provide the sync functionality you opted into (see the Privacy Policy). You can export or delete your data at any time.
9. Disclaimer of warranty
Midvash is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Midvash and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service.
11. Changes to the service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice. We will provide reasonable notice for material changes that affect existing users when feasible.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version is published at the same URL with a new Last updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of Brazil, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rights of your habitual residence under applicable law.
